Housing and Lodging

Lodging in the Stanley/Chippewa Falls area:

This link, Chippewa Chamber - Lodging, will take you to the Chamber's list and description of a number of hotels/motels, B&B's, resorts, campgrounds, and vacation homes in the area.  On this list, you will find links to the websites of some of lodging facilities, which will provide some pictures and other pertinent information.

If you have information about lodging in the area and would like to share that, email us at reunion@leoandfrances.org

The Avalon Hotel and Country Inn and Suites are near each other.  The Avalon has no double rooms but does have a lot of space suitable for weddings, meetings, banquets, etc.   There is one thing about the Avalon that is kind of nice - they have a lounge/bar that has two levels, nice ambience, and lots of variety in their draft beer choices.  (I always figure more vs fewer choices in draft beers says something about the kind of place it is.) The CountryInn Suites has “suites” that are essentially larger regular rooms.  They have a pool, a breakfast area, and wireless internet access.

The AmericInn is about a mile closer to Chippewa Falls than the Avalon/CountryInn Suites, but it’s in the same neighborhood.  It has a nice pool area that has four different “pools,” a whirlpool, a larger pool that’s maybe 5-6’ deep, another pool that has an 8’ high/17’ long slide, and lastly, another pool that’s about a foot deep and with a slide that’s about 18” high.  The pool area is perfect for kids of all ages.  They have the same kind of breakfast area as CountyInn has.

There is a brand new Holiday Inn Express down the road toward Eau Claire, but nice as it is, I thought it was a bit far and rather isolated as there was little around it but land waiting to be developed into fast food stores or whatever.

Dana’s Bar and Grill is near the bridge/dam that leads into Chippewa Falls, not far from the motels listed above.  The place might serve as a sort of gathering place.

The Wissota Lodge in Chippewa Falls (www.lakewissotalodge.com) has rentals are weekly, Sat. to Sat. The two bedroom (4 person max.) boathouse rents for $600. (Might be nice for a group that is planning an extended stay in the area!).  They can be reached at (520) - 463-1815 or email:  abjacob@sbcglobal.net or betty@lakewissotalodge.com.
